How it all started......
Our now Chairman, had an idea some time ago to arrange a luncheon for all retired staff in Hampshire, and with a little help from his friends it was set up.
It was very successful and just grew and grew, becoming a regular event, until it was too big for a few people to organise, so on the 3rd of February 2003 a committee was set up to run it and the group was given the initials R.A.P. (Retired Ambulance Personnel) .
We arrange three lunch parties a year, at various venues within Hampshire, and all members receive a copy of our magazine Rapport they are also informed of all the functions that are available, whether they want to actually attend or not,all for just seven pounds fifty a year.
The Ambulance Service has supported the club and keeps us informed of staff about to retire or those who have been taken seriously ill, plus other matters deemed to be of interest to us. The club also has good contact with the Hampshire Ambulance Benevolence Fund, so that members who may need their help can speedily gain contact.
