Ford Thames.

This vehicle was in service at a number of establishments during the 60's and early 70's including RNB Victory Barracks, RNH Haslar, HMS Collingwood, HMS Sultan, HMS Dryad and HMS Mercury. It was mainly used for sitting cases but had stretchers and did accident work when required.
The Royal Naval Ambulance Service's main workhorse on accidents was the Bedford, initially the J series which was later replaced by the CF. The Bedford CA replaced the Ford Thames as the smaller utilicon type Ambulance. HMS Daedelus had a Bedford CF and two yellow Range Rovers which were consistant with RNAS operations. The series 1X Bedford CF's were supplied by Wadhams, however up to this time most MOD Service Ambulances had been built by Lomas.
Thanks to Ron Lilly for the information.
